Susan Riordan

Susan grew up in Hamden, CT and is the youngest of four girls. Her father was an accomplished athlete and had her playing sports at a young age.  She grew up playing tennis and swimming competitively. She always enjoyed exercising and keeping in shape as an adult. After competing in a sprint triathlon she decided to focus on running.  Susan and her family moved to Madison in 2008 and she began running with friends and playing adult USTA tennis. Unfortunately after a few years, she suffered a hip injury from years of wear and tear which led to major surgery in 2014.  After her recovery a friend suggested she try CrossFit and she has been hooked ever since! Susan has been coaching for over a year and was drawn to the community that HCF coaches have created which led her to the decision to join our gym.  She loves coaching and watching athletes develop, grow, and accomplish things they didn’t think possible.

Outside of HCF, Susan works full time at USTA (United States Tennis Association).   She loves time with friends and vacationing with family. Her favorite way to spend her free time is watching her kids play sports.  She lives in Madison with her husband Scott and their three children; Sam, Lindsay and Brendan.
